OUR STAFF

Pastor Tammy Jacobson

It has been a privilege to serve alongside the people of Sverdrup Lutheran since the summer of 2020. It is an honor to walk alongside and explore what it means to be the people of God. It is a joy to be part of this community.

I love life in this rural, farming and lakes area of which every day I am in awe of God’s creation and its many cycles. I love the seasons- not only the four main seasons but planting, harvest, bug and bird ‘season’. I love watching sunsets with my husband Dale and cat Lydia. I love drinking coffee, biking, golfing, gardening, youth sports, playing games (cards and puzzles) and getting to know people. I love to explore places near and far and am looking forward to Medora with the youth this summer.

This year, the most exciting thing that happened is I had the honor of officiating at the wedding of our son, Jordan, and new wife Amanda in Los Angeles.

Karen Terry - Office Manager

I was raised in Indianapolis and moved to Minnesota in 1989 to attend the University of Minnesota. I worked with the DNR and University of Minnesota Extension, doing research and providing education related to water resources, before retiring in 2020. I live on a small farm between Underwood and Fergus Falls with one dog, twelve goats, two cats, and too many chickens. I enjoy gardening, traveling, genealogy, working with draft horses and mules, birding, bicycling, hiking, and being on the water.

I have been the office manager at Sverdrup since January 2022, and it is the best job ever! I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful community.

Valerie Sohl - Accompanist

I grew up on a farm near the small town of Jeffers in south central Minnesota.  It was during my childhood that I gained a deep appreciation for rural living and always hoped that one day I could end up back in the rhythm of that lifestyle.  I attended college at MSU, Mankato and graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocal & General Music, K-12.  I have been a church musician in a variety of capacities throughout my entire lifetime.  Worship and Music has always been an integral part of who I am.  Being the primary piano accompanist for Sverdrup Lutheran Church continues to be my absolute joy and pleasure!

There is so much more that I would love to share with everyone regarding my children and my grandson, my hobbies, and my past work experiences.  Yet once I start it is so hard to know when and where to stop. I am always open to a good cup of coffee and conversation.  I am a good listener.  And I love hearing people's stories!
